I did a much better job using OATS this week so I had a much better flow to get all of the requirements completed. This has been particularly true for my daily readings and doing the SIT. I had been thinking toward the end of Week 1 about changing the time for doing the SIT. During Week 1 I had included it in my final reading time right before bed. However, as the week went on trying to not fall asleep got to be more and more difficult. In the Alliance area someone posted that she had a similar challenge so she was doing her SIT during lunch and asked if this diluted its effectiveness. The responses were “no” and to do it whatever time works best. So, I changed my time to the afternoon and this has made a TREMENDOUS difference!
Although the SIT this week has been challenging because I have to inhibit my thoughts, sitting still has been MUCH easier. The first week I would begin to feel hot, itchy or numb after a few minutes. I would use my thoughts to not think about the heat, itchiness or numbness and to think about this journey, my world within and my DMP. However, this week without being about to “think” I just “sat” and breathed. When I found my mind forming conscious thoughts, I’d focus on the darkness (I sit with my eyes closed so I don’t get focused on something in my surroundings) and feel my breathing and I am back on track. The 15 minutes are going by a little faster than last week.
I had more and more “ah-ha” moments this week as I started linking the readings to other things in my life such as having an attitude of gratitude and how that affects my world within and creating new, good habits. I also have now been seeing blue rectangles EVERYWHERE! Blue is my favorite color so there is a lot of blue in my home. However, I never realized HOW MUCH blue there is until this week when I started looking for blue rectangles! LOL Even in things such as the color scheme of my work email or my IE….there are blue rectangles! I LOVE IT!
Although this week has made me even more excited to see what next week will bring, I’m remembering to live in the moment and to get all I can out of this week. I feel better about the changes I have made to my DMP and am really beginning to BELIEVE! 🙂 Until next time…
